Radar is currently running an angry screed against the Millenials, the generation that used to be named "Generation Y" until they whined about it sounding like an afterthought to Generation X. Kind of like how Generation X rejected their first moniker, the "Baby Buster" Generation, for sounding like an anticlimax to "Baby Boomers"--but Generation X wasn't something we chose for ourselves, it was an insulting perjorative that we embraced with a hearty "Well, fuck you very much!".

The Millenial Generation is painted here as self-involved, shallow, coddled consumerist whiners who think "think updating a spreadsheet while simultaneously posting to a Twitter account about the latest gossip on perezhilton.com is an essential corporate skill".

Part of me remembers the accusations of "slacker" and "cynical" that were flung at us by the Baby Boomers and can't help but think that this feels like another spoke in the endlessly turning wheel of "This generation that came immediately after us is nowhere near as awesome as we are, and will bring down the fall of civilization!"

On the other hand, fuck the Millenials. We gave the world anticommercialism, Google, and Johnny Depp. What the hell is going to be The Millenials' legacy, motherfucking MySpace? The claim that anal isn't "real" sex?

I'm the only one in the office who knows how to fix things. ie. The printers, the fax, the copy/scan/emailer/printer.

Everyone else just gets fed up with the one thats not working, and moves on to a different one. Instead of trying to fix it.

So now, all my stuff didn't print out cuz no one told me it wasn't working... oh well.

my breakfast..but i became very very very hungry again at around 10AM

friday is usually a day to enjoy lunch with other new comers who join the company this year

(not only ppl in my company but from the parent company, etc who are working in the same building)

they ALL are newly grad...so young

me is the eldest

but i didnt join them today..wanted to spend my own quiet time...at my desk

and at 1730...got invited by the HR manager to join him dinner

with other new comers and some people from HR department

he is the person who assisted me from day 1

i came for the interview....

until i made the contract

and he also spent hours trying to explain to me the conditions after being accepted 

(coz i couldnt read japanese hahhaa so he read everything and explained to me)

he even went to the immigration office...to check about the documents, etc

i like him ;)

and today he was very funny...after getting drunk ;)

i am so so so happy to be surrounded by kind and nice people ;)

and yeh...since he is a manager of HR department..so he has a clear picture of my future

he knows where i will be....etc

so today we talked on the way home in the train

i have to try harder to learn the job...

for my future ;) ;)

i kinda see where i will be in this company

(according to what he told me..today.)

I think I've just worked out why this happens ! Maybe it's because the text font size (in the CSS file) has been specified in pixels (px) instead of points (pt) !

i.e.

body { font-size: 12px; }

instead of

body { font-size: 12pt; }

This seems to be the problem with the WikkaWiki CSS style sheets so i've created a ticket http://wush.net/trac/wikka/ticket/764 and fixed my own WikkaWiki sites !
