Last week was Obon Season in Japan. My wife and I took the Shinkansen to Iwate on Saturday 9th and returned Wednesday 13th. We had a nice relaxing time while there. During the holiday vacation I got the opportunity to try Baba Hera icecream, eat at Pizzeria Piace one of my favorite pizza restaurants, and go to a Summer Matsuri! Not to mention got to see family that I hadn't seen since New Year's. Here are some photos from the the trip to Iwate that I took with my Nokia N82.
Today was the last working day for both my wife and I, now our holiday starts. Tomorrow morning my wife and I are taking the Shinkansen to Iwate where my in-laws live. The next few days will be occupied with plenty of yummy home cooked food, plates of sushi, soda, fried chicken, onsen, and visiting family. Of course I'll be bringing my N82 to take photos of family, not to mention the delicious food. When I get the chance I'll upload the photos to Flickr but I don't expect to be blogging much from Iwate so this might be my last post until next year when I return from the holiday.

Here are my 3 favorite photos from my holiday in Iwate. Photo 1 (11082007048.jpg) is of my 2 month old nephew holding my hand. Photo 2 (12082007115.jpg) is a docked ship near Higashihama Kaido, Iwate. Photo 3 (14082007193.jpg) is a peaceful rice paddy field in Iwate.
I'm in Iwate at my In-laws for the traditional Japanese Obon Holiday. I took the Shinkansen Saturday morning and arrived 2 quick hours later in the capital of Iwate named Morioka. Another short ride on a local train and I arrived in Shiwa Town where my In-laws live. Plenty of food, relaxing, and visiting other family and friends during this holiday. I got to meet my new nephew that is just 2 months old now. Also got to see my neice that is 2 years old. I'll be in Iwate until Wednesday when I take the Shinkansen back to Saitama, then it's back to work on Thursday.
Sunday the 6th was the last day of the Golden Week holiday. I had lunch, took some photos of my in-laws flower garden, had a last dinner, then headed to take the Shinkansen back home.
After the wedding there was an "After Wedding Party" held at the bride's parent's house where more delicious food was served.

On May 5th we attended a cousin's Wedding in Iwate. There was delicious food to be eaten and entertaining festivities to be watched. I took photos with the Nokia N95 and video with the Nokia N93i.

After returning back to my in-laws house we took a quick rest then headed out for dinner with my in-laws at the best pizza place in Iwate, Pizzeria Piace!
After lunch we went to a park in Iwate. I took some photos there with the Nokia N95.
