Today is Wednesday that means Thai Truck for Lunch in Meguro! I saw Shin and said hi while waiting in line.
Today is Wednesday that means Thai Truck for Lunch in Meguro! Mmm Yummy. While waiting in line I saw fellow Vox member Shin, we talked for a little while about recent blog entries on Vox. Such blogging Vox geeks we are. =)
Jero is the first Black Enka Singer to become successful in Japan. His grandmother was Japanese, after World War II she married a black American and moved to the US. She taught her grandson, Jero, traditional Japanese Enka songs. Jero grew up in America but decided to visit Japan to learn more about his Japanese roots. He took part in a TV show Singing competition and won, shortly after that show aired he appeared on other TV shows and became even more well known.
Interestingly he is popular amongst older Japanese because of his great singing ability, but also the younger Japanese like him because he tends to dress in hip hop style clothes and dances in hip hop style to the songs he sings.
I agree he has a great voice. The clothes are ok, that is his choice to dress how he wants. I wasn't that impressed with the dancing but his voice makes up for the dance moves.

I saw fellow Vox user Shin while waiting in line. In fact he beat me to the Thai Truck today so he got his lunch before I did!
Since it was a nice day and the Sakura are in bloom I ate outside with one of my coworkers.

The Tokyo St. Patrick's Day Parade took place today in Omote-sando, Harajuku, Tokyo. The parade was scheduled from 2-4 PM but it was shorter than that. The parade today started a little after 2 and was over by 3 PM. But it was still great. Nice to see lots of people showing their spirit by wearing green and Irish style clothes. Below are some photos from the parade taken with my Nokia N82. There are lots more on my Flickr account if you want to see more of them.
